"The Town of Trails"      

In September of 1884, the Hunter Mining District was established in what is now the city of Mullan. This Mining District was the first mining organization on the South Fork of the Coeur d' Alene River.

       Mullan is about five miles west of the Idaho-Montana border on Interstate 90. Mullan is a small historic city with a population of 840, as of the 2000 census.
